Roswell, New Mexico

Well, this place turned out to be a bust. There were like 3 alien stores, and the rest of the town is just a plain old town. After seeing this place on TV, I thought it was gonna be crazy. Not. But, I did have a good conversation with one of the store owners who, ironically, turned out to be from texas, and told me to go to Amarillo instead of Dallas because of this famous steak place. That turned out to be the best idea yet, and I got the best steak i've had all trip. An added bonus was I ended up passing through Oklahoma City and got to see the federal building memorial. Those pics will follow. Here's the rest I took in Roswell.....
So, there it is, not much, but fun anyway....

Flagstaff, Arizona

Well, this was just a short stop on my way to gallup. I have to say, it's a neat little town. The trains come through about every 20 minutes or so, and i'm glad i don't live there for that reason. It's right on rt 66 so it was fun to drive a little portion of it, but i'll have to drive the whole thing next time I do this trip. here's a few pics...
theres just a few, nothing to major, but then again, it was a tiny town...until next time

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

What can I say, you NEED to see this. It is by far, one of the most awe inspiring things I've seen in my life. I went from Zion down to the north rim, hiked for a few hours, then drove the 3 1/2 hours to the south rim. Both were amazing. The canyon's only 10 miles across, but you have to drive back the way you came from the north rim and then all the way around to the south rim. Worth every minute, here's the good stuff.....
...That was the north rim and a couple from the ride to the south rim. Here's the other side....
So there's some eye candy for ya. This place is a must see for anyone who lives in this country. Well, all the national parks are.....

Zion National Park, Utah

The Utah national parks are just incredible. They are well run, very visitor friendly, and extremely well organized and run. In 2000, Zion added a shuttle service to cut down on the amount of traffic that goes through the park. I have to say, it works like a charm. You don't even have to go into the park to catch a shuttle. They have shuttles from the outlying town, Springfield, to take you to the visitor center, then you can transfer to the shuttle that takes you through the park. They run every 6-8 minutes, so you can get off at anyone of the seven stops and spend as much time there that you like. You don't have to worry about "making the bus" because they run up and down so often. This park was such a great experience, i'm thankful I added it to my itinerary. Without further adieu, heres the pics.....
So, there they are. Some of the best pics didn't come out the way I wanted. When I went to the narrows, it was a little dark for pics, and since I left my tevas at home, I couldn't go in because I you have to trek across the river. But none the less, it was a great time, and the scenery was just incredible. Tomorrow, i'm off to the Grand canyon. I'll keep you guys updated, hope your all having fun!!!

Las Vegas, Nevada

This was my first time ever in Vegas. I can totally see why people flock here. The strip is a cool place. I don't gamble, but to see vegas was definitely A good choice. Ironically, this turned out to be one of the best " bang for buck" stops on the trip so far. I got a 15th floor room at treasure island for 119$ and it had the most comfy bed ever. Since I don't gamble, I spent a little on a great steak house, but it was worth it. Best meal i've had all trip. After that, I went out and wandered the strip, here's what I found....
It's off to Zion now, hope everyones doing well!!!!Till next time

Yosemite National Park, California

Just like the rest of them, this park was huge. Not as big as yellowstone, but still huge. You could pretty much drive an hour and a half in any direction and still not reach the borders. The good thing about this park, is that it's very accessible for bikes. There are very few places you can't ride, so it was nice to get out on the bike and get some long needed exercise. Unfortunately, because of the time of year I came, there was really no waterfalls to see, and mirror lake was dry. You really need to come in the spring when the snow melts to see the water falls, but I still had some spectacular views, here they are....
So, there you have 'em. It was a blast, well, the whole damn trip has been a blast, this has just been one great piece. next stop, Vegas. Until then.....
